County Final Saturday as Junior and Intermediate Laois Camogie champions set to be crowned

It'll be a double header in Laois Hire O'Moore Park
This weekend is set to be a gigantic one for the Camogie clubs of Camross, St Brigid's, Portlaoise and St Lazarian's with their sides competing in County Finals in Laois Hire O'Moore Park.
The opening game of the double header sees Portlaoise go up against St Lazarian's for the right to be crowned Junior Camogie champions and with it a chance to represent Laois in Leinster. The winners of Saturday's final will get a bye to the semi-finals of Leinster where they'll face the winners of Wicklow and Offaly.
Portlaoise got the better of The Harps' second team in the semi-final on a scoreline of 1-14 to 0-8 while Saturday's opponents St Lazarian's had nine points to spare over St Brigid's second team, 0-15 to 0-6.
The Intermediate final between Camross and St Brigid's is a repeat of the 2022 final where St Brigid's went on to win the Laois Camogie Intermediate Championship for the first time since 2004.
Both sides have been very consistent in reaching the Intermediate decider over the last few years with Camross having lost out to O'Moore's in the 2023 final after extra-time. Camross last won the title in 2021 when they defeated Saturday's opponents in the final. St Brigid's competed in three successive finals from 2020-2022 where they made it third time lucky in the final.
The semi-finals of this year's competition took place last weekend in the LOETB Centre of Excellence. Camross reversed the result of last year's final to knock out county champions O'Moore's. Aimee Collier was the star of the show with 1-8 of their 2-9 total. St Brigid's made light work of The Harps in the other semi-final on Pitch 1 as they raised six green flags on their way to a facile victory.
Saturday, October 19 has the potential to be a thrilling day of Camogie action with the players getting the chance to impress on the biggest stage in Laois which is Laois Hire O'Moore Park.
The Leinster Express/ Laois Live will be providing live blogs from both games.
