Crime prevention meeting for Laois town
The meeting is part of a crime prevention strategy in the area.
Crime Prevention Officer for Laois and Offaly Sergeant Graham Kavanagh will meet with the people of Rathdowney on Monday July 8.
The aim of this meeting is to try and establish a Community Alert Group for the local town.
"Most towns in the area have them," said Rathdowney Garda Sergeant Paul Howard.
"It would be good to have it, in case of anything that locals might need to be notified on," he said.
The meeting will take place in Rathdowney's Community Centre at 8pm.
All are encouraged to attend.
