Christina Mills  - Abbeyleix

The death has occurred of Christina Mills (née Holland) Portlaoise Road, Abbeyleix. Christina passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family in the care of the Regional Hospital Portlaoise on Thursday, October 3. Predeceased by her loving husband Leo and her infant daughter Kathleen. Deeply regretted by her loving sons Leo and Kevin her daughter Caroline, grandchildren Cian, Eabha and Luke, daughters-in-law, son-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, nephews, nieces, neighbours, relatives and friends. Reposing at her residence from 6pm. on Friday with prayers at 8pm. Removal to the Church of the Most Holy Rosary, Abbeyleix for 11 am. Requiem Mass on Saturday. Interment afterwards in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Abbeyleix. 

Sean Corboy - Coolrain

The death has occurred of Sean Corboy, Caher, Coolrain, Portlaoise and formerly of Terryglass, Co. Tipperary on October 2, 2024 (peacefully) at his home. Predeceased by his sisters Bridget, Maureen and Elsie. Deeply regretted and lovingly remembered by his wife Mary, father of Catherine, Rosaleen, William, Antoinette and John, sister Pauline, brother Joe, grandchildren, nieces ,nephews, extended family, relatives, neighbours and his many friends.

Reposing at Guilfoyle's Funeral Home Castletown (Eircode R32 TN84) this Friday evening (Oct. 4th.) from 7 pm until 9 pm pausing for prayers at 8.15 pm.

Seam's Funeral Mass on Saturday morning (Oct. 5th). in St. Fergal's Church Camross at 10 am. with burial immediately afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Bridget Shannon (née Thompson)- Carlow/Laois

Bridget Shannon (née Thompson) of 2 Rathduff, Hollymount, Carlow and formerly of 38 O’Hanrahan’s Avenue, Carlow, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on October 2nd, 2024, at her home.

 Beloved wife of Michael, much loved mother of Michael, Thomas, Caroline, William, Kathleen, Richard, Teresa, Eileen, Joseph, Gerald and Martin, cherished sister of Kitty, Richard, William, Pat and the late Neddy, Mick, Mary and Ann and treasured daughter of the late Billy and Kathleen. She will be sadly missed by her loving husband, sons, daughters, her 48 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, brothers, sister, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Reposing at her home, 2 Rathduff, Hollymount, Carlow (Eircode R93 R5Y8) from 4pm on Thursday and all day on Friday, concluding with Prayers at 7pm both evening. Reposing from 10am on Saturday with removal from there on Saturday at 1pm to St Clare’s Church, Graiguecullen, arriving for Funeral Mass at 1.30pm. Burial will take place afterwards in Sleaty New Cemetery.

Ciaran (Bobo) Lawal - Portlaoise 

The death occurred of Ciaran (Bobo) Lawal,  Station Road, Portlaoise, Laois / Shannon, Clare on Sunday, September 29, 2024. 

Suddenly and peacefully at home. Deeply missed by his mum Prisca and his dad Nuru Lawal. Adored brother of Kuda, sisters Colletta and Latoya. Deeply missed by his nieces and nephews, extended family and his many friends. May he Rest in Peace.

Ciaran will arrive for Funeral Service in St. Peter & Paul's Church, Portlaoise (R32 R684) on Saturday (Oct 5th) at 12 noon followed by burial in St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery. Funeral Mass can be viewed live here HERE.
