'Easy fix' on Laois path would be of 'great benefit'

A Mountrath path needs to be repaired to make it more safer for pedestrians, according to Cllr James Kelly.
The Independent councillor made the appeal at a meeting with Laois County Council’s District Engineer for the town Edmond Kenny.
His motion called on the Council to repair and make safe the footpaths at a residence on the junction of Shannon St and Shannon Rd.
Cllr Kelly said the footpath is used by pedestrians but also wheelchair users. He believed it would be an ‘easy fix’ which if done would be of ‘great benefit’.
Mr Kenny replied that the Council would meet Cllr Kelly to inspect the footpaths and the road surface at this junction.
