Flood plans to be unveiled in Laois for flash flood hit community

Slieve Blooms community hit badly in 2017
Preliminary plans to protect Clonaslee from flooding are to be presented to the public.
A third public information event will be held at the Clonaslee Heritage Centre just over six years since the community was hit by floods that caused carnage in Mountmellick in 2017.
“Members of the Project Team will be available to discuss the scheme proposals. The purpose of this event is to present the preliminary design developed by RPS Consulting Engineers, which will be brought through Environmental Impact Assessment and submitted for planning next year,” said Laois County Council.
The consultation takes place from 2pm – 7pm on Tuesday, December 12. The project is being overseen by Laois County Council.
Details will be published also on www.consult.laois.ie
