Graiguecullen had a mixed 2022. They were well fancied to be one of the challengers to Portarlington before a shock quarter-final exit at the hands of Courtwood. Kevin Doogue has stepped aside and the Carlow border team has made a very shrewd appointment in former Inter county manager Jason Ryan.

Ryan, originally from Waterford had a spell in charge of Wexford before taking over from Kieran McGeeney as Kildare Manager in 2013.

Kildare didn't have too much fortune under Ryan and was relegated down to division three of the national league during his reign. Ryan did have a massive win over Cork in the summer of 2015 with the lily whites which gained them a place in the All Ireland Quarter final. However, they were convincingly beaten by one of that year's finalists Kerry. More below picplaceholder image

Ryan comes into the Graiguecullen job knowing that the group has got a lot of potential with a good mixture of youth and experience within the team. There have been expectations of this current crop of players for a few years now and he will be hoping he has the ingredients to bring Graigue to the next level
