GAA reveals League fixtures Laois hurlers
Laois are competing in Division 2 for the first time since winning it back in 2012
The Laois hurlers will compete in Division 2A of the Allianz Hurling Leagues for the first time since 2013 and they now know the fixture details for the upcoming campaign.
The O'Moore County had a year to forget as they were relegated from Division 1 of the league by Westmeath as well as failing to reach the Joe McDonagh Cup final.
Willie Maher's side will take on Down in the opening game. Laois played Down in this year's Joe McDonagh Cup where they scored seven goals in a match for the first time in Laois' history. Kildare will provide the opposition in the second game with Laois set to travel to Manguard Park, Hawkfield.
A local derby follows as Laois and Carlow will clash in Portlaoise. A trip to Navan is on the cards as Laois face the Christy Ring champions Meath. Kerry will have to make the daunting trip up the country as they face Laois in the final round of games.
