Give it a go in Portarlington

Triathlon Ireland is hosting an introduction to Triathlon event for young people in Portarlington in May.

A triathlon is an endurance multisport race consisting of swimming, cycling, and running over various distances. Triathletes compete for the fastest overall completion time, racing each segment sequentially, with the time transitioning between the disciplines included.

The sport is not new to Laois with Trilogy Triathlon serving Laois and the surrounding counties from Portlaoise since 2004. They have just hosted the popular TriLaois pool-based triathlon. It takes place every April at the Laois Leisure Centre in Portlaoise.

The day for juniors takes place on Saturday, May 3 in the Portarlington Leisure Centre.

Anyone interested in looking to put their swimming skills to the challenge can find out more information on this link – https://app.triathlonireland.com/course/550

Triathalon is open to everyone aged 9 to 14 years and for those interested in participation for fun through to competition.

Parents/carers are asked to stay for the session. The coaches are Eimear Matthews and Daithi Kidd.
