Justin McNulty's side come into the game in a rich vein of form

Laois are set to welcome London to Laois Hire O'Moore Park this weekend with Justin McNulty's side aiming to cement their place at the top of Division 4.

The O'Moore County have won their first four games of the league against Longford, Wexford, Carlow and Tipperary. The Tipperary game last weekend was a game that McNulty described as 'cheating death' with Laois winning by a single point. It looked as if Tipperary would inflict the first defeat of Laois' campaign before three late points from Kieran Lillis, Evan O'Carroll and Paul Kingston saw Laois scrape over the line.

London come into Saturday's game with a single point to their name having drawn to Tipperary at home in the third round of games. They played Laois twice in 2023 with Laois hammering them in the league, 6-6 to 2-8, while their Tailteann Cup clash was a lot closer. A late fisted point from Niall Corbet saw Laois draw with The Exiles, a result which meant they remained in the Tailteann Cup. Laois would then go on to defeat Fermanagh and Limerick in the subsequent rounds to secure a semi-final place.

Saturday's game will be an important one for the Laois footballers as should results elsewhere go their way, Laois could have top spot sewn up with them being unable to be caught at the top with 10 points. Another trip to Croke Park could be on the cards for Laois and their army of supporters, here's hoping!

Laois v London throws-in at 7pm on Saturday, March 2 in Laois Hire O'Moore Park. The Leinster Express/ Laois Live will also be providing a live blog at the game. Tickets for the contest can be bought online as well as in the usual Supervalu stores across the county; SuperValu Stradbally, Breslin's SuperValu Rathdowney, McConville's SuperValu Mountmellick, McLoughlin's SuperValu Portarlington, Mulhall’s SuperValu Portlaoise, SuperValu Abbeyleix and SuperValu Parkside Portlaoise.
