Laois athletic students backing Irish beef for fitness

Our names are Calum Donnelly, Bryan de Souza, Archie Travkin and Eli Colbert and we are Transition Year students in Portlaoise College.
Calum and Archie play at a high level in soccer which is for Klub Kildare, Bryan plays basketball for Portlaoise Panthers which is ranked top 10 team in all of Ireland for u17s and Eli plays multiple sports such as gaelic, rugby and hurling.
All of us live in Laois and travel around Ireland with our sports.
We believe that Irish Angus beef is better for athletes.
As teenagers and athletes, we realised how important our diet is to perform well in our sports, as we want to be able to perform to the best of our ability in our chosen sports. So would we like to share with you what we have found out.
We started being interested in our health when we started to become better at our sport and the small things matter like what type of food we ate.
At the start of us trying to eat better we found ourselves eating the same meal all the time, chicken and rice. We found it hard to stick to eating this meal and found ourselves cheating ourselves and eating things like pizza and other unhealthy things.
All of us discussed how we found ourselves thinking 'there have to be other foods that taste good and are healthy'.
After a while we started to look into what was the best food to eat. We considered lots of meat like chicken, ham and beef.
We noticed that one in particular would make it a lot easier to always eat it and make it easier to stick to the meal plan.
As we did our research we found out that beef would be the easiest to keep a strict diet with as it has more taste and has more variety to it.
We asked people like physios, gym instructors and older and more experienced athletes. They all said beef would be good to put into our meal plan as a main meal.
The experienced athlete said we “would need to find a good company that produces good quality beef because it is important that it's as lean as possible ”.
We found Irish Angus beef and decided to see if it would be a good beef we did our research and found out that the beef is grass fed which means it is more sustainable and cleaner.
That means it is good for the earth as we can make unlimited grass and it is better for not only athletes but everyone. We also found out that it has a more dense and clean source of protein than other beef. It also helps a lot with recovery.
Which means it is good to eat it at any time before matches or training or after.
After now eating it for over a year it hasn't been nearly as much of a struggle to keep to the meal plan because of how the Irish Angus beef tastes. It has a good consistency in its taste and never disappoints in its tenderness, juiciness and other qualities. We all think It was a good decision to switch to Irish Angus beef.
We noticed how much Irish Angus beef helped us become better athletes and when we saw there was a competition on promotion of it called “how Irish Angus beef improves athletes performance", we decided that we would use this chance to share our experience on how it has helped us. We would like to share it to other people and try and help people become better athletes.Thank you for reading.
