Laois Camogie make it four wins from four against Roscommon to secure All-Ireland semi-final place

A superb second-half showing them overcome The Rossies
The Laois Camogie team have an All-Ireland semi-final to look forward to after they had 10 points to spare over Roscommon in Mountrath this afternoon.
Victory today meant that Laois topped the group of the Glen Dimplex All-Ireland Premier Junior Championship and will have a three week break before their All-Ireland semi-final.
Laois 4-13
Roscommon 2-9
It was Pat Collier and Robert Jones' Laois team that got off to best start as they fired over the opening three points. Aiva Coss raised the first white flag of the afternoon. Roscommon did have two chances to score a point but both efforts dropped into Aedin Lowry's hand. Aimee Collier opened her tally soon after from a 45' while she was on the end of a well-worked team score which saw Susie Delaney, Aisling O'Dea and Collier combine.
Roscommon had to wait 10 minutes to get a score on the board as Niamh Fitzgerald pointed a free. Orla Connolly took a free from the half-way line and it dropped short but unfortunately for Laois, it flew into the net once it bounced on the wet surface. Clodagh Tynan was the maker of the next Laois score after her free found Collier, who pointed for the third time.
Fitzgerald got a second free for the away side to push them ahead but Grainne Delaney replied for Laois to keep it all square. Connolly stepped up to a free for the second time and it was a case of deja vu for Laois as it ended up in Lowry's net. Collier looked to get an instant reply for Laois but her effort was saved point-blank by Andrea Fallon. Susie Delaney was on hand to blast home the rebound for Laois. The sides went in level at the break, 1-5 to 2-2.
As is often the case with this Laois team, they showed their prowess in the second-half. Collier got a second goal for Laois immediately after the break to take her tally to 1-3. Roscommon only managed to score one point from play in the game and that came courtesy of Kaitlin Egan. Aiva Coss added a goal to her earlier point after Eimear Hassett had passed the ball into Delaney but her shot was blocked into Coss' path and she made no mistake from close-range.
Fitzgerald tapped over two more frees for Roscommon before Laois hit 1-7 without reply. Aiva Coss, Jade Bergin, Andrea Scully and four points from Collier gave Laois a huge lead as substitute Rachel Deegan got Laois' fourth goal of the afternoon. Fitzgerald got two late scores for Roscommon as Laois recorded an impressive victory in the end.
Laois now have a three-week break before playing Armagh in an All-Ireland semi-final. The sides have met already in 2024 as Armagh defeated Laois in the Division 3A final.
