Laois Camogie player helps University of Limerick to Ashbourne Cup title

The Portlaoise star's college were comfortable winners in Saturday's final
Ashbourne Cup Final
University of Limerick 6-11
Technological University Dublin 1-12
Laois and Portlaoise camogie player Susie Delaney was heavily influential last Saturday afternoon as the University of Limerick clinched honours in the Ashbourne Cup final with a comprehensive 6-11 to 1-12 win over Technological University Dublin.
Delaney has had a year to remember for club and county having been apart of the Portlaoise Ladies Football team which captured a second successive Laois Senior Football Championship with victory over St Conleth's. Susie was also a member of the Laois Minor Camogie team which got to an All-Ireland and Leinster final in 2023. The Ashbourne Cup caps off a successful year for the Portlaoise player.
Despite the sides fighting it out well in the first half where the eventual winners only took a one-point lead in at the break at 2-5 to 1-7, the Wolves showed their goal hunger with Eimear McGrath bagging a second goal of the game along with one from Casey Hennessy while Mairead O'Brien hit two goals in a flurry of green flags.
