Laois Crimecall CCTV footage requested

A bench warrant was issued for the arrest of a man accused of stealing alcohol from Lidl in Portarlington. 

Kamil Kruk, 30, of 9 Ballymorris Manor, Portarlington is accused of stealing gin and vodka valued at €140 from Lidl in Portarlington on June 6, 2022. 

Although the defendant wasn’t present at Portlaoise District Court, David Nugent BL asked for full disclosure to include CCTV, which he said was missing.

Garda Sergeant JJ Kirby said full disclosure had been sent a day earlier. 

However, Mr Nugent said the CCTV was missing and he knew it existed. 

“I know it was on Crimecall so it is available,” he told the court. 

Judge Andrew Cody issued a bench warrant for the arrest of the defendant.
