Tyrone and Cork will contest this year's Electric Ireland All-Ireland Minor Football Championship final with a Laois referee in the middle

The Heath’s Seamus Mulhare has been appointed as the referee for the 2026 Electric Ireland All-Ireland Minor Football Championship final between Tyrone and Cork.

The decider will take place on Sunday, July 5, at Cedral St. Conleth's Park in Newbridge, with throw-in at 2pm. The match will also be broadcast live on TG4.

Mulhare's appointment is the latest milestone in what has been a busy spell for the Laois GAA official, who continues to earn recognition at national level.

Earlier this year, he took charge of the AIB GAA Football All-Ireland Junior Club Championship final between Kerry champions Ballymacelligott and Tyrone side Clogher Éire Óg.

Last season, Mulhare was the referee for the Laois Senior Football Championship final between Courtwood and Portarlington. Courtwood, appearing in their first-ever senior final, forced a replay before Portarlington retained the title two weeks later, claiming their fifth county crown in six seasons with a three-point victory.

Mulhare also officiated the 2025 All-Ireland Junior Football Championship final at Croke Park, where New York edged London by a single point to secure a third successive title.

This year's Electric Ireland All-Ireland Minor Football Championship final sees Tyrone and Cork battle for the Tom Markham Cup after both came through their respective semi-finals. Tyrone overcame Kildare to reach the decider, while Cork booked their place with victory over Derry.

Mulhare's appointment is another significant honour for both the referee and The Heath GAA club, as he prepares to officiate one of the biggest underage fixtures on the Gaelic football calendar.
