Laois Gardai issue warning over online drugs

Laois Gardai have issued a warning in relation to the purchase of prescription drugs online. 

The warning follows a number of incidents in Laois where attempts were made to purchase prescription medicines online.

Gardai are warning that even if online ads for drugs aren’t merely scams where no product is delivered, there is no telling what product might actually arrive if something is posted.  

“Gardai in Laois have been made aware of incidents where persons are attempting to buy Prescription Medicines online through various social media sites,” garda warned. 

“1) These ‘medicines’ are not tested or regulated and could cause harm to your health.

2) Very often this is a scam, when money is paid over, no product arrives in the post and there is no way to reclaim the money paid over,” they said.
