Gardaí say the driver provided false details
Laois Gardaí seized a Mercedes car from a driver who they say gave false details.
Gardaí said the motorists was stopped in Portlaoise as it was being driven without insurance.
“Laois Roads Policing Unit on patrol in Portlaoise yesterday stopped this vehicle being driven without insurance,” Gardaí explained.
“The driver was arrested after giving false details to Gardaí and subsequently discovered to be disqualified from driving for four years. The driver has been charged to appear before Portlaoise District Court and the vehicle seized,” they added.
Laois Roads Policing Unit has seized a number of cars from motorists in recent weeks with the assistance of a Garda Mobility App. The App allows Gardaí to check whether a vehicle is insured in real-time.
