Laois LGBTQ+ workshop in Portlaoise aims help with identity understanding

An organisation that claims to be committed to improving life for LGBTQ+ is running a workshop in Portlaoise for people who want to know more about LGBTQ+ identities.

Hosted by Midlands LGBT+ Project, the Shoutout talk and information session in Portlaoise Library will look at the most up-to-date terminology used by the LGBTQ+ community. The organisers say the aim is to help participants to feel fluent in "respectful and supportive language in an ever-changing context".

The organisers add that it is perfect for anyone who wants to know more about LGBTQ+ identities.

"This workshop is informed by over a decade of ShoutOut’s on-the-ground experience in schools and youth services and is suitable for a wide range of ages and backgrounds," say the organisers.

The event takes place on Wednesday, June 28 at 6 pm. Booking is recommended as spaces are limited. To register your interest please visit the page at https://tinyurl.com/2855uz2e
