A sure sign summer is coming in Laois, is the reopening of the county's outdoor swimming pool.

The community of Ballinakill are hard at work cleaning and painting their lovely heated pool for the summer season.

They are looking for offers of help.

"Preparations began a couple of weeks ago and continue apace as we prepare for this year's opening of Ballinakill Outdoor Swimming Pool. We have plenty of washing and painting to complete and welcome any and all offers of help. We need old towels to help prep the big pool for painting. If you have any, please drop them down to the pool," the committee say.placeholder image
