Laois road in Portlaoise closing for a week

A Laois road on the outskirts of Portlaoise is to be closed for a week this May.

Drainage works on the local L-6695 Clonboyne road will require part of the road to be closed for "aproximately" one week say Laois County Council.

The road is off the Portlaoise Mountrath Road, near junction 18 of the M7 Motorway.

Laois County Council say that a section will be temporarily closed, from Monday, May 15 for approximately a week.

"The closure is necessary to facilitate drainage works. Access for residents will be accommodated. Diversions will be clearly signposted."
