Students in Mountmellick Community School are busily preparing to put on a brilliant musical show next week, followed by an important talk about mental health a week later.
The students will stage 'Mountmellick High School The Musical', in the lovely environs of Mountmellick Community Arts Centre, this Wednesday and Thursday, November 29 and 30.
The curtain rises at 7.30pm each night.
Tickets are on sale now from the school. at a cost of €10 per adult, and €5 for Under 11s and Mountmellick CS students.
There will also be a raffle on the night of each show, with local donations gratefully received.
The school is holding a second event in another local hall next week, with all the community invited along.
The Leaving Cert Applied students in conjunction with Mountmellick Macra will host an information talk on mental health by Make the Moove in the macra hall.
The public are invited to "come along for the tea/coffee and buns and hopefully leave with a little more awareness, less stigma and a direction of where to go in times of struggle".
The talk takes place at 8pm on December 5.
