Caroline Hofman will be flying the flag for Laois on the iconic quiz show Countdown on September 25

Laois woman Caroline Hofman is set to appear on Channel 4's hit quiz show Countdown on September 25.

Countdown is an iconic TV show known for its engaging mix of light-hearted entertainment and intellectual competition. Hosted by Colin Murray, contestants have to race against the clock to solve anagrams and complete arithmetic challenges. Each episode sees two people compete in 15 rounds of words and numbers to be crowned Countdown Champion.

Caroline Hofman, the Managing Director of The CUBE Low Carbon Centre of Excellence, has been a long-time fan of the hit quiz show.

Commenting on her appearance in one of the longest-running game shows in the world, Caroline said: "I’ve been watching Countdown for so many years, so I am thrilled to feature as a contestant on the show."

She added: "I never thought that I would have the opportunity to be in that studio, solving puzzles in front of such a recognisable and renowned team. I’m proud to be flying the Laois flag on the show in its 90th series!"

Portlaoise native Ray McNamara previously appeared on the popular show.

Make sure to tune in to Channel 4 on Wednesday 25 September at 2.10pm to watch Caroline on Countdown and see if she has what it takes to become Countdown Champion!
