Councillor not taking no for an answer over need for signs in Clonaslee

Clonaslee will be considered for ‘children at play’ traffic signs, at the request of Cllr Seamus McDonald.

He was not taking no for an answer to his motion at the October meeting of the Mountmellick Borris-in-Ossory Municipal District.

He had asked for the signs at McCann’s house in Cush.

Engineer Rory O’Callaghan in reply said the house was on a local road at Brockagh, on a “well secured site where children can play safely” and he saw no need for signs on the public road.

“There are a couple with small children down the road, there is a playschool. Two signs are all we need. It’s a circular route. Look again,” Cllr McDonald asked him.

Mr O’Callaghan said he would.
