Motorist stopped by Laois gardaí arrested after bench warrant discovered

A motorist stopped by Laois Roads Policing Unit will appear in court on Wednesday morning after Gardaí discovered there was a live bench warrant in place for their arrest.

Gardaí say the driver was initially stopped on Tuesday, October 1 for not having insurance.

"The driver gave false details to Gardai. It transpired that the driver has never held a driving license and was uninsured. There was also a live bench warrant in existence for their arrest. The driver was arrested, charged and held overnight for court this morning," said Gardaí.
