Have you chosen which of the five new leaders for Operation Transformation 2023 to follow yet?

Here's a handy rundown, starting with our own Andrea Daly from Laois.

Originally from Arklow, Co Wicklow, 38-year-old Andrea lives in Portlaoise with her husband Joe and their three children Alex, Ryan and Masey.

Their eldest son, Dylan, was born in 2005 with Cerebral Palsy. Following Dylan’s birth Andrea and Joe, who were in their early 20’s became his full-time carers.   placeholder image

Sadly, in January 2019, at the age of 13 Dylan passed away. The loss of Dylan has left a huge void in all of their lives. The time has come for Andrea to go on an adventure of discovery – not only for herself but for her family too - and she knows Dylan will be with her every step of the way.

Andrea said: “My journey on Operation Transformation, I look forward to getting healthy and being happy in my own body. I feel this is my year and looking forward to the next eight weeks and seeing what the next months and year brings.”

Marie Cleere, 32, lives with her mum Angela in Tipperary and is a part time SNA with children with disabilities.

Self employed businessman Thomas wants to introduce a sustainable routine into his health and well-being as he moves into the next stage of his life.

“A risk to my heart is a risk to my health and getting a healthy lifestyle is my motivation to becoming an Operation Transformation Leader in 2023,” he said.

Stephanie loves sport, with soccer being her real passion. Since having Jack four years ago and Aoife earlier this year, she is struggling to get her mojo back.

She coaches soccer in Crumlin Utd and holds a UEFA soccer coaching licence but she really wants to get back playing.

“I'm looking forward to the adventure of learning all the skills to improve my overall wellbeing,” she said.

Lorraine loves her job but with a very busy house and a busy school she is juggling a lot.

Exercise and movement once played a huge part in Lorraine’s routine, but in the last few years, family life and work has been her priority.

“2023 is the year where I’m prioritising my health and wellbeing, making time for myself and making healthy choices with my family,” she said.

The public can pick and follow their favourite leader, with eight weeks of meal plans, exercise routines and fitness tests all available on the Operation Transformation website.
