The announcement was made by Carol Murphy, People First Marketing Manager, at the Laois Community and Voluntary Awards held in Portlaoise on November 3.
"I have the privilege of introducing a brand new initiative that is close to our hearts. It is our time for us to recognize and give back to the volunteers and the extraordinary individuals who work tirelessly for our community. It gives me immense pleasure to announce the launch of the 'Community Champions Award' by People First Credit Union. This €10,000 award is dedicated to supporting a volunteer group within our common bond, aiming to bring long-lasting benefits not only to their group but also to the broader community. We understand and value the incredible contributions you make, and this award is a symbol of our appreciation for your outstanding dedication.
"I would like to express my gratitude to my Community Funding Committee in People First Credit Union who selflessly volunteer their time to evaluate each application throughout the year.
