Remains found in search for midlands man

The search for a missing Offaly man has been called off following the discovery of a body.

“Following the discovery of a body of a male in County Galway on Saturday, June 10, the missing person appeal for Noel Guilfoyle has been stood down,”  Gardai said.

Mr Guilfoyle had gone missing last Tuesday. The 45-year-old’s disappearance sparked appeals online and searches involving GAA clubs and others. Sadly, the search ended following the discovery of a body today. Gardai said no further action is needed.

An Garda Síochána would like to thanked the public for their assistance, Gardai added.
