“It is with deep sadness that we remember our dear friend and colleague, Detective Inspector Jeremiah "Jer" Glavin, who passed away yesterday. Jer was not only a remarkable Garda, but also a mentor, leader, and true embodiment of what it means to serve and protect.
Jer joined us in Tullamore as a Sergeant in 2008 from the Garda College, and it wasn't long before he was promoted, a testament to his dedication, commitment, and ability to inspire those around him. His leadership and kindness touched us all, and his presence will be greatly missed,” Laois Offaly Gardaí said in an online post.
“We extend our heartfelt condolences to Irene, and daughters Jennifer, Emma, and Ellie, along with the extended Glavin family during this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Rest in peace, Jer,” Gardai said.
Mr Glavin, a Cork native who lived in Offaly, is due to be laid to rest on Friday following funeral mass at 12 noon in St. Colman's Church, Mucklagh, Co Offaly.
