Road ban over car untaxed for over two years

A driving ban was given to the owner of a car that was untaxed for over two years.

Lisa Ann Dempsey, 37, of 5 Burrin Manor, Tullow  Road, Carlow was the owner of a car which had no tax displayed at Emmett Street, Mountmellick on August 4, 2022. 

Garda Stephen O’Hanlon said the tax had expired by 825 days. He said the woman had ten previous convictions all related to road traffic offences. 

Judge Andrew Cody imposed a fine of €500 and disqualified the woman from driving for a year. The defendant wasn’t in court for the case.
