Teen accused of laundering over €13,000 in Laois

A teenager allegedly laundered over €13,000 in Laois.

Rajou Zanga (19), of 26 Carmody Way, Fairgreen, Portlaoise, is accused of laundering €13, 284.88 at Lyster Square, Portlaoise between March 25, 2025 and March 31, 2026.

Garda Sergeant JJ Kirby said the DPP had directed that the case could remain in the district court but only if there was a plea of guilty. If the charge is contested, the case will be sent forward to the higher circuit court.

Judge Andrew Cody adjourned the case back to Portlaoise District Court on October 5 for a plea or a book of evidence.
