Two top students win Laois secondary school scholarships

Two top young Laois students have each won scholarships worth €1,100 as they begin their secondary education.
Portlaoise College has announced the winners of its 1st Year scholarship, an esteemed award that recognises outstanding academic achievements.
The scholarships, valued at over €1,100, have been awarded to Emma Nolan, from St Colmans National School Stradbally and to Eoin Cosgrove from Emo National School.
Both students will start 1st year in Portlaoise College next September with generous help towards their financial costs.
The scholarship program at Portlaoise College is designed to celebrate exceptional talent and potential among incoming first-year students.
Along with 192 other incoming 1st Year students, both Emma and Eoin partook in a scholarship entrance programme in March where they demonstrated remarkable academic prowess. Their outstanding achievements have earned them this well-
