Watch: Brian Stanley on Laois buses canvasing for General Election votes
Appeal for number 1 votes former Sinn Féin TD's name appears on the destination scroll
A local bus service in Laois has been used to canvas for votes for Laois independent General election candidate Brian Stanley.
The Town Link Connects operates throughout Laois and the midlands though most link Portlaoise to other towns.
The electronic destination boards on the service run by Slieve Bloom coaches contain the campaign messages for the former Sinn Féin TD Brian Stanley.
The appeals appear on the front and rear of other vehicles calling on people to give their number 1 votes for the outgoing TD.
The service is not connected to the National Transport Authority-funded Local Link service which operates in Laois.
Slieve Bloom Coaches has so far declined to comment.
The National Transport Authority said it is a licenced commercial service which it does not subsidise with public funds. A spokesperson was not aware of any restriction relating to what they have on their destination scroll.
