Mary Claire Fitzpatrick from Rathdowney meets cute cats and dogs needing homes

Laois comedian and RTÉ children's show presenter Mary Claire Fitzpatrick is urging people to consider adopting a pet this Christmas and in the New Year.

The star who has over 150,000 followers on Tiktok on @mcluvs2laugh reminds people that pets are not just for Christmas.

She met LSPCA volunteer Finn Ryan, and lots of cute rescue cats and dogs looking for a permanent home.

"I popped in to visit Finn and some of her gorgeous foster friends at the Laois SPCA. You can apply to adopt a cat or dog today, or become a fosterer. Link in my bio to learn more and remember, a pet is for life and not just for Christmas @laois_spca #adoptdontshop #laois #catsofinstagram

Laois SPCA are delighted she visited.

"Mary Claire came for a visit with us at the weekend. She got to have a cuddle with Kevin and Indigo even came out to say hello and tried to travel home on Richards shoulder!"

The charity rescues and protects abandoned or injured animals in Laois.

Laois pets needing a home include a young beagle, cocker spaniel and lots of kittens and cats.  See their website for full listings.

Donations always welcome. Call their dog coordinator 0864169559 and Cat coordinator on 0852397059.
