WATCH: 'You kill for each other' Laois camogie All-Ireland dynamo

Laois camogie All-Ireland winner reveals ruthless effort to win title in GAA HQ

The determination and fight in the Laois camogie team was revealed by O'Moore's midfield clubwoman Liadan C Fennell after her team was crowned All-Ireland Premier Junior Champions in Croke Park.

Speaking on RTÉ after the game she said she knew the final would be tough following previous games against Armagh.

"It was always touch and go and we always knew this was going to be a tough match. The first half showed that. We settled our nevers a little bit more in the second half. When the second goal went in we kinda of went a little bit ahead but we still knew it wasn't over.

She revealed that half-time was key.

"We just did it for the girls. One of the girls just specifically said just look into each others eyes and said you go out there and you kill for each other. Play as a team, play as fore each other and just give it socks," she said.

The midfielder said the 2024 final loss to Tipperary left a mark but was used to motivate the team.

"This time last year we had tears in our eyes for the other reason and none of us wanted that again. That just gave us that extra push," she said.

She also commented on a defence which stopped Armagh from scoring for 20 minutes in the second half.

"The backs were very solid now, they kept us very grounded," she said.

From a strong Gaelic games family she agreed the camogie community and her own family helped them recover from 2024.

"To have the support last year and this year kept us pushing forward. It really showed out there (Croke Park) that that's what kept us going," she said.
