Water springs caused flooding at Laois house

Underground water springs are said to have caused flooding at a house in Laois.
An Abbeyleix household has recently faced flooding and water springs, with drainage work requested to be done by Laois County Council.
Cllr John Joe Fennelly tabled a motion to the December meeting of Portlaoise Municipal District asking for drainage work at Nolan's house, Ballymellen.
In reply, the council said that work had already started on the L-5731 by the time of the meeting. They were to be complete within the week.
“I was contacted by residents, fair play you were out straight away and work is underway,” Cllr Fennelly said.
