Tropical storms are causing headaches for weather forecaster for the weekend of the Electric Picnic with weather charts showing very different scenarios according to Carlow weather man Alan O'Reilly

He says EP weather questions are already being posed but it's not yet possible to give a clear answer

"The weather models however are all over the place beyond the 28th of the month (August) with the Global Forecast System (GFS) Model showing the huge difference in possible outcomes from high pressure right over us to much more unsettled weather.

"The tropical storms in the Atlantic can always cause headaches for the models and with so many active at present this is especially true at present," he said.

Met Éireann's extended forecast shows settled weather for the picnic.

The famous Carlow weatherman will be posting updates on social media closer to the event.
