Weather warning issued for final day of Electric Picnic in Stradbally

Met Éireann has issued a warning for Rain and Thunderstorms which could impact outdoor events for the final day of Electric Picnic.

Intermittent showers haven’t dampened spirits at the Stradbally festival over the weekend but the latest forecast is likely to be more of a challenge.

Met Éireann issued the Status Yellow Rain and Thunderstorm warning for all of Ireland.

It is predicting “widespread heavy showers or longer spells of rain, with thunderstorms bringing some lightning and hail.”

According to the national forecaster, the possible impacts include “localised flooding, outdoor events impacted, difficult travelling conditions, poor visibility and lightning damage.”

The warning is valid from until midnight.
