A source of inspiration as Longford author has 'memorable' visit to former school

Bríd Reilly White visited her former national school for a reading of her book
There was great excitement around the corridors of Scoil Bhríde Killasonna NS in Granard on Monday afternoon as author Bríd Reilly White returned to her alma mater and read extracts from her newly published book, ‘The Teacher who Barked at the Dog’.
Principal Colm Conlon explained that as a past pupil of the school, ‘it was a particularly special occasion to welcome Bríd back to share her journey as a writer with our pupils’.
Mr Conlon added, “Bríd spoke to the children about her work, explained how she creates her stories, and encouraged them to develop their own creativity and love of reading and writing.”
Bríd introduced pupils to her book, ‘The Teacher Who Barked at the Dog’, which was greatly enjoyed by all. “It was a memorable and enjoyable experience for our school community,” said Mr Conlon.
The principal concluded by thanking Ms Connolly ‘for organising this wonderful opportunity for our pupils, and to our Parents Association who helped spread the word in the local community and kindly provided refreshments for the event’.
