An unforgettable weekend of open-water swimming, riverside adventure, and family fun is set to take place in the Lanesboro / Ballyleague area

The programme of events kicks off on Friday May 15

The Gaelforce Great River Swim is rapidly becoming synonymous with Lanesboro and Ballyleague where it attracts well over 1000 contestants, supporters and spectators to the area.

GaelForce is a very successful Mayo based Irish company specialising in outdoor adventures throughout the country and it brings a great support and atmosphere no matter where it goes and our community is no exception.

The programme for the weekend has been coordinated between GaelForce, an active local committee under the stewardship of Colm Croffy, Longford Tourism, and both Tidy Town’s committees that are creating the Family Fun Day on the Saturday.

The even opens on Friday, May 15, with the weekend kicking off with a free walking tour of the area at 4pm.

Even though the walking tour is free you must pre-register at [email protected]
