Six students will each receive €2,000/£2,000 to assist with their studies

With just five days remaining, Lakeland Dairies is urging eligible Longford students to apply for its Student Bursary programme before the deadline closes this Friday, June 26.

Open to sons and daughters of its milk suppliers and employees, the scheme reflects Lakeland Dairies’ continued focus on supporting its people and farming families. Six students will each receive €2,000/£2,000 to assist with their studies.

The bursary is aimed at those undertaking undergraduate or higher-level degrees in disciplines relevant to Lakeland Dairies’ operations, including agricultural science, dairy science, manufacturing engineering and related fields.

Liz Shouldice, Chief People Officer, Lakeland Dairies, said, “With the deadline fast approaching, we encourage eligible students to apply. Supporting our people is a priority, and this bursary helps young people progress in their studies while creating a pathway for them to contribute to the future of the co-operative and the wider sector.”

Niall Matthews, Chairperson, Lakeland Dairies, said, “Lakeland Dairies is built on the strength of our farming families and our people. It is important that we support those who will lead the sector in the years ahead. The bursary programme is a practical way of developing the skills and ambition needed to shape a sustainable future for dairy.”

Awards will be made following an application and interview process.
