Longford County Council has received an application for planning permission to refurbish and convert 2 existing 3-storey dwellings situated on Lanesboro’s Main Street. The change of use for the dwellings, which are currently derelict, has been cited as “tourist /guest accommodation.”

The application - which was lodged by local pharmacist and businessman Gareth Johnson with a registered company address of Johnstown Pharmacy, Main Street, Lanesboro - also involves amendments to the layout and elevations.

The change of use to tourist/guest short term accommodation would include the provision of one 4-bedroom unit, as well as two 2-bedroom self-contained units with upgrade of access, parking, bicycle parking, storage and ancillary works.

The Longford Planning Authority is due to make a decision by November 12th
