A Longford couple, Nicola Donlon and her partner Nathan Hanlon, are undertaking a skydive to raise funds for Diabetes Ireland.

At the age of three, and just before Christmas 2022, their daughter Sasha was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes and they organised the fundraiser as a way of giving back a little after the care and support they received.

Nicola explained, “For our 30th birthdays, myself and Nathan decided to do something a little different to mark it.

“The care and support that was set in place for Sasha from day one was absolutely mind blowing, so we thought we'd try to raise some funds and give back a little.

“We've decided to do a tandem skydive, and the jump is happening on February 5, weather depending.”

Diabetes Ireland is a national charity dedicated to helping people with diabetes and Nicola remarked, “We'd love it if people could share and donate to our fundraiser. You know every little bit helps.” You can donate HERE

Gaelscoil Longfoirt, where Sasha is in Naíonáin Bheag, are also doing a La Gorm fundraiser on Friday, February 9.
