Longford District court: Man given curfew over garda charge

A man accused of obstructing a garda has been confined to a curfew and other strict bail measures after appearing at a recent Longford District Court sitting.

Quinta Ncube (23) of no fixed abode was brought before a recent District Court sitting charged with obstructing a garda at Wellmount Student Village, Dublin Road, Athlone, Co Westmeath on May 23, 2023.

Mr Ncube gave no indication of what way he intended to plead and was granted bail, subjdct to a number of conditions.

Among them included orders for Mr Ncube to obey a curfew from 11pm to 6am, to sign on twice weekly at Athlone garda station, provide a mobile phone number wuthin 72 hours and remain contactable at all times.

Mr Ncube was remanded on bail to Athlone District Court on June 7.
