Longford District Court: Young man due to reappear in court

Defendant to face 25 various charges
A young man is due to reappear before Longford District Court this month to face 25 various charges, including money laundering, theft and drugs offences.
Alan Fahy (21), of 16 Chestnut Close, Clonbalt Wood, Longford, appeared last week before Judge Bernadette Owens, where he pleaded guilty to all charges before the court.
Among those, Mr Fahy is charged in connection with a section 6 money laundering offence, where he obtained bank details of another for the lodgement of €1,750 for a third party.
The court also heard evidence of how, on February 15, 2021, while Garda Anthony Scanlon was on patrol near Annaly Park, he observed Mr Fahy throw an item across a wall.
When Gda Scanlon turned the car around, Mr Fahy ran away and the Garda followed and stopped him. When he checked behind the wall, Gda Scanlon found three items wrapped in foil that turned out to be suspected cannabis worth €50 and suspected cocaine to the value of €100.
Judge Owens proceeded to remand Mr Fahy on bail on all matters to May 14 next.
