Longford Family Fest set to take place this month!

The much anticipated Longford Family Fest 2026 will take place in Market Square on Thursday July 23 and Friday 24.
A new festival is set to take place in Longford’s Market Square this month, Thursday July 23 and Friday 24.
Founded and organised by Councillor Niall Gannon, it’s already anticipated that Longford Family Fest will become an annual event.
Explaining how the idea came about, Cllr Gannon said, “With the absence of a festival for the last few years, I spent the last couple of months seeing if we could run a small festival over the summer to get everyone out and about for a couple of nights.”

Cllr Gannon added, “We hope to create a market type environment on the Market Square for kids and adults alike on Friday July 24 before the music starts.”
“Along with the vendors usually there on a Friday, I have a good collection of pop ups and stalls but anyone that feels they can add something to the afternoon don’t hesitate to contact me and I’m sure that we can accommodate you. There will be no charge for your pitch on this afternoon but permission must be sought. You can contact me at [email protected] ”
“The budgets are small but hopefully it won’t stop us having a few nights of fun. I want to start by saying a special thanks to a few good friends, some great bands and artists, Longford County Council staff, a gang of very talented young people, Longford Gardaí and local businesses for their help and advice over the last few weeks”

On July 23 and 24, music lovers of all ages are expected to take to Market Square - the festival focal point over two evenings of live music, local performers, family fun, children’s entertainment and community celebration.
While the full line up will be revealed in the coming days, the headline acts have been confirmed.
Thursday’s headline act is Pub Fiction, while on Friday, Paul Kelly and band will be taking to the stage for the main performance.
The full timetable, attractions and lots more will also be announced over the coming days.
There is still some availability for pop-up stalls and children’s activities on Friday and anyone interested in availing of this can email the team on [email protected] or call 086-8507730
