Longford GAA team managers for the 2023 season
Apart from the high profile appointment of former Dublin All Star defender Paddy Christie as the manager of the Longford senior football squad, Adrian Moran from the Ringtown club in Westmeath is back for a second season in charge of the county senior hurlers.
Longford GAA Chairperson Albert Cooney was delighted to announce in his address at the recent annual Convention that an extended panel of 40 players are currently in training for the 2023 senior football season and that the return of some of the more experienced players who were unavailable in 2022 is a big boost.
The new season for the county senior footballers starts on Wednesday night, January 4, when they take on Laois at O’Moore Park in the opening round of the O’Byrne Cup.
Clonguish clubmen Kieran Carey (second season) and Tony Devlin have been appointed the managers of the Longford U-20 and Minor (U-17) football squads respectively.
Devlin is back for a second stint in charge of the county minors to replace Gareth Johnston (Rathcline) who has stepped down from the position.
