A man facing a number of charges, including harassing a female solicitor, will have some of the charges against him heard in Longford Circuit Court.

Patrick Cassidy (53) of Dromard, Moyne was served with the book of evidence against him at last Tuesday's sitting of Longford District Court.

Mr Cassidy faces charges of engaging in threatening and abusive behaviour at Longford District Court on January 31, failing to comply with the directions of a Garda and obstructing an officer undertaking his duties on November 30, 2023.

Further charges are of dangerous driving at N63 Barnacor, Longford on April 18, 2024, and of harassing Pauline Brady between January 1 and January 7, 2025.

Sergeant Andy McGauran gave evidence of serving the book of evidence on the defendant. The court was told Mr Cassidy is on bail in respect of the matters and that the State had no objection to the extending of bail on conditions already set out.

Judge Bernadette Owens adjourned the matter to the next sitting of Longford circuit court on July 15, 2025. When the defendant was issued with an alibi warning, Mr Cassidy said he was having difficulty getting legal representation.

Judge Owens said the dangerous driving and public order charges will be adjourned to April 15, 2025, to allow Mr Cassidy get legal representation and a hearing date will be allocated on that date if necessary.
