Longford MEP welcomes long-awaited Vision on Agriculture and Food

Ciaran Mullooly says, "Its success will ultimately depend on the financial and regulatory resources allocated to its implementation."
MEP Mullooly has welcomed the publication of the long-anticipated Vision for Agriculture & Food, acknowledging that it highlights the many challenges facing Ireland’s agri sector.
This comprehensive strategy outlines a roadmap for the EU’s agricultural sector. The Vision recognises agriculture as a strategic sector vital to Europe’s food security and rural development. It also aims to make farming an attractive career for future generations.
While the report contains a range of recommendations, Mullooly commented that "Its success will ultimately depend on the financial and regulatory resources allocated to its implementation."
Ciaran Mullooly particularly welcomes the commitment to addressing farming succession challenges, noting that the recommendations in this area are encouraging.
However, MEP Mullooly stressed the urgency of delivering on the promised simplification measures stating that "As a member of the Task Force, I will personally push for a clear timeline to ensure their swift implementation."
