The conferring of awards provides an opportunity for the University community to focus, with pride, on its very purpose – to educate our young people to the highest standards and to equip them with the skills and attributes required to thrive and contribute positively to our wider society.”
During his speech to graduates, he said: “The world is going through a period of unprecedentedly rapid change and we face many global challenges. However, most of these problems are man made, and it is up to humanity to solve them.
“I am confident that you, our graduates, will play your part in bringing about positive change - delivering on the DCU mission ‘to transform lives and societies’ in your communities, in your professions, in our wider society.”
The President also reiterated his call for a lasting ceasefire in Gaza and the immediate release of all hostages.
