South Longford school sweethearts tie the knot
Ballymahon Vocational School shared a heartfelt message congratulating newlyweds Gillian Farrell and Niall O’Farrell.
Ballymahon Vocational School (BVS) has shared a heartwarming post celebrating two former students, Gillian Farrell and Niall O'Farrell, who recently tied the knot after first meeting as students thanks to "the odd bit of matchmaking from some very helpful teachers.”
Posting on the BVS Facebook page, the school wrote, “They say school is where lifelong friendships are made… but every now and then, it’s where a lifelong love story begins.”
“We’re delighted to congratulate two of our great past students, Gillian Farrell (Class of 2014) and Niall O’ Farrell (Class of 2013), whose journey together began during their days at Ballymahon Vocational School. Who knew that Niall’s invitation to Gillian on a first date to Nally’s would lead to wedding bells all these years later?”
Watching past pupils build happy, successful lives is always special, but seeing two BVS classmates find lasting love and start this exciting new chapter together makes it even more so.
The post continued, “The biggest talking point back then may have been Niall treating Gillian to the refreshments, but looking back now, it was clearly the best investment he ever made! Of course, no great BVS love story would be complete without the encouragement (and maybe the odd bit of matchmaking!) from some very helpful teachers along the way.”
They added, “We’d like to think they played a small part in helping this wonderful romance blossom! It’s fantastic to see two former BVS students still writing their story together. Watching past pupils build happy, successful lives is always special, but seeing two BVS classmates find lasting love and start this exciting new chapter together makes it even more so.”
