A YOUNG boy who was tragically killed in a car accident forty years ago will be remembered at a poignant Walsh Island Mass next Saturday, June 17.

Raymond McEvoy was just seven and a half years of age when he died after the accident.

He was living with his family at Coolagarry, Walsh Island, in Walsh Island National School and the accident happened just a couple of weeks after he got his first Communion in June 1983.

His parents, PJ and Dorothy McEvoy moved to Tullamore three years after the tragedy.

The Mass takes place at 4.45pm on Saturday and all are welcome to attend.

It is being organised by former schoolmates of his and some of them are travelling from all over the country to attend.
